Become a Volunteer Pastoral Carer with Living Care
Living Care, in partnership with Careworks, will be piloting a new Volunteer Pastoral Care Program in 2018 at its Pendle Hill site. The “Spiritual Care Series” is a nationally recognised training program, featuring Professor John Swinton, and utilising exciting and varying training materials and methods.
This free training course will consist of 8 x 2 hour sessions, one evening a week, likely to commence in April or May 2018. If you are interested, please email email@example.com
The plan is to recruit and train a group of mature and caring people from local churches to be involved in the new initiative. Trained volunteers will then be able to offer social, emotional and spiritual support in Living Care programs under the supervision of the Chaplain.
As a Volunteer Pastoral Carer, you will be able to spend quality time with people who receive home care services, live in residential services and retirement villages, providing genuine spiritual and emotional care. As a pastoral carer you can listen, share stories and memories, reminisce together – all over a cup of tea. You will have regular individual and group meetings with the chaplain of the program so you feel supported and encouraged.
Living Care has been providing care in New South Wales for almost 80 years. We operate nine residential services, seven retirement villages and provide in-home care across New South Wales. Living Care is a ministry of Fresh Hope (Churches of Christ in NSW), working as a not for profit Christian organisation supporting local communities.
