Artists shine at The Residences Art Show

11 Sep, 2025

The Residences at Castle Cove once again held The Residences Art Show, on the 8th and 9th of August, in collaboration with Castle Cove Public School.

Despite heavy rain throughout the weekend, the event drew an incredible turnout of residents, families, and supporters from the local community.

This year, the Parents & Friends (P&F) of Castle Cove Public School were involved and handled catering with a sausage sizzle and a delightful cake stall featuring an all-time favourite: scones, jam, and cream. All proceeds raised by the P&F were donated directly to the school.

The energy and enthusiasm of everyone involved made the event extraordinary.

A record number of 90 artworks were exhibited ranging from Kindergarten to Year 6 and the quality of the pieces was nothing short of outstanding, making the task of selecting winners a real challenge.

In addition to this, the talents within The Residences community were also on full display, with many Residents contributing stunning works for exhibition and sale, showcasing the incredible creativity within the community.

It was an honour to welcome and host Mayor of Willoughby the Hon. Tanya Taylor on the final day to present the awards.

Patrick O’Neill, Community Manager at Castle Cove was humbled by the support. “Events like this wouldn’t be possible without the support of our local community. We are grateful to Castle Cove Public School Principal Janette Cope for her enthusiastic collaboration and to Fresh hope Communities who generously donated vouchers as prizes for the young artists. And of course, heartfelt thanks to all the Residents who helped in the lead-up and over the weekend—hanging artwork, judging entries, moving furniture, and ensuring the day ran smoothly, especially to Gloria and Julie who ran the operational components of the Art Show.”

In addition, Residents raised just over $1,045 through admission, a raffle, and a guessing competition, a fantastic result.

We also gratefully acknowledge the generous local businesses who donated prizes for our raffle: Wendy Tory, Hairdressing, Belle-Amari Beauty, Imm Thai and Burley Café.

The winning student artworks will be proudly on display at Burley Café over the coming weeks.
