Earlier this month, the first cohort of Fresh Hope Pioneers gathered at the Tops for 3 days. Fresh Hope Pioneering, a stream of Mission & Ministry, desires to equip new expressions of the Kingdom as they seek to take new ground for Jesus. We had leaders and teams present from 4 current ‘Pioneering Communities’ – Blaxland, Parramatta, Blacktown and Marrickville. The cohort experience is designed to bring these communities together for encouragement, support and training as they embark on the mission to see a new expression of the Kingdom sharpen and grow in their area.

All of these teams are at different stages on the Pioneering journey, one is 2 years in, one only a year and the other two are in the beginning stages as they explore the area they are planting in and starting to build a team around them.

This first retreat was a rich time of sharing stories with each other about the journey so far – both the struggles and learnings in pioneering something new. We spent time praying over each community, as well as affirming them and discerning the future landscape.

We also had the privilege of sitting under the teaching of Ray Chang from Ambassador Church in LA. He is a Korean-American pastor who strongly champions multi-ethnic faith communities. He imparted wisdom on stating, staging, staffing and multiplying these communities. His rich history in church planting was evident in his knowledge.

Would you join us in praying for these four Pioneering Communities as they continue on the journey of what God has called them to. We are planning to start more cohorts like this in 2018/19 as this one continues to grow & develop.
