Funds raised through Fresh Hope Engage will be distributed to local churches in the state’s regional west. With their local knowledge of where the needs are greatest, churches will allocate funds where this is most beneficial for each of their individual communities. Areas of need already identified include emergency relief packages, food vouchers, pastoral care and community gatherings.
Our regional churches are already actively involved in assisting farmers and farming communities. Pastor Allan Vincent from Dubbo Community Church writes, “We saw God in action in our fellowship recently. In our fellowship, we have several families that live on the land. One family in particular was struggling with very little feed for their cattle. I started enquires trying to source some feed to help them. Two weeks later, another family approached me offering enough hay to feed their stock for three months, but they had no way of transporting this to them. I then approached another mate of mine who owns a semi – trailer. Even though he was unable to help, he tossed me the keys and said it’s yours to use. I then spent the next day driving from property to property delivering this hay. What I didn’t know is that this family had made the decision to walk away from the property because they had literally no feed or money to keep the cattle alive. Then God told them clearly one night that they had to accept the help he would provide. The next day, I called with the news that I had hay and would be delivering it the following day. This was God doing what he does best.”
