Homelessness is a growing issue in NSW. The causes of homelessness are varied and often complicated, but every homeless man, woman or child is loved by God and as a Christian movement, by caring for them we have a great opportunity to show the love of Jesus to some of the most vulnerable people in our society.

That is why we have chosen to focus our Winter Appeal this year on the issue of homelessness.

Several churches within our movement are already responding to their local needs and reaching out to serve homeless people.

  • Kingsway Community Church in Sydney through the provision of emergency accommodation for victims of Domestic Violence at Platform 9.
  • Missionheart in Canberra provide a drop-in centre and meals to the homeless and people in need in the centre of city.
  • Tweed Church of Christ providing relief to people displaced from the 2017 floods, now living out of cars, condemned caravan parks or living rough in the sand dunes.

Our aim is to raise $30,000 so they can continue to provide relief to people in desperate need. We also want to share about their work and encourage people to pray and discern how God might use their own gifts and skills in service.

Please give generously to providing food, clothing and shelter to people who find themselves displaced and homeless this Winter.
