Cedar on Collins hosts Seniors Festival

7 Apr, 2025

In early March, Cedar on Collins hosted its first Seniors Festival coinciding with the nationally recognised Seniors Week with the theme ‘Time to Shine’.

Different to our Open Days, we took the opportunity to celebrate Seniors Week with a range of activities and invited community groups to join us.

Guests were invited to register for activities such as Paint and Chat, Daily Movement classes and Chair Yoga. Tours of the facilities were also offered for those who were interested.

There was a strong sense of community engagement with Kiama Lions Club providing a BBQ, demonstrations throughout the day from Kiama Quilters, Wrapped with Love and Berry Spinners and Weavers, and performances by Aria Stone and Sing Australia contributed to the fun and festive atmosphere.

Cedar on Collins Residents also enjoyed the day, participating in the classes on offer and savouring the sausage sizzle.

Overall, 75 people attended throughout the event, and several decided to take a tour of the facilities which generated some keen interest.

Reporter Lynne Strong from The Bugle, the local newspaper in Kiama, also attended and interviewed one of our residents about her experience living at Cedar on Collins.
