Since opening its doors in late 2023, Cedar on Collins has welcomed 12 new residents into the community. The new residents are all delighted with their new homes.
“The light. The airiness, The quietness. How easy it is to clean… My proximity to all facilities at Cedar…The welcoming garden and outdoor seating on arrival home. The beautiful potted plants dotted around the paths and entrances… it’s wonderful,” one resident enthuses.
Another resident says, “We have loved every moment of our stay in Cedar. Thoroughly enjoyed the activities. Concierges and managers have been very helpful and friendly. Other residents are a joy to mix with.”
And Community Manager Jaimi Keaney has been right alongside them as they have settled in.
She shares, “Assisting residents during the challenging task of downsizing and moving can be overwhelming and stressful. However, it brings me great joy to offer guidance and reassurance during this time, ensuring a smooth transition. Once they have settled, they exude a sense of calmness and witnessing each resident settle into their new home and community fills me with immense happiness and satisfaction. We eagerly anticipate welcoming even more residents as the year unfolds.”
Residents have wasted no time in getting to know each other, initiating Friday evening drinks, morning teas and activities. Seeing them all enjoying every chance they can to connect, Jaimi came up with the idea to organise a surprise outing to the stunning Bendooley Estate Winery in Berrima. The residents were thrilled.
After an hour and half bus trip from Kiama, the residents enjoyed a sumptuous lunch with shared platters of slow roast lamb, pumpkin and sage tortellini and salads followed by wine tasting at the cellar door and finishing up with a leisurely browse through the Berkelouw bookstore.
Needless to say, the residents all loved the outing and plans are in the making for a return trip in the not-too-distant future.
Sounds like a fantastic way to celebrate the coming together of a brand new community.
