Cedar on Collins recently put on a Lebanese Dinner, attended by 20 residents. These monthly catered dinners have become a highlight for many residents, who eagerly look forward to the different themed events catered by Culinarius, a local catering business. They provide a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a delightful meal without the hassle of driving anywhere. Residents simply bring their own drinks and relax in the company of good friends and neighbours, in the comfort of their own community.
The Lebanese feast began with an entree of sharing platters, Baba Ganoush, Tabouli and Feta, it was followed by chicken with preserved lemon and classic Middle Eastern vegetables and flavours. It was finished with a mouthwatering dessert of walnut cake with honey syrup and yoghurt.
The consensus among the group was that the meal was delicious and the company, fantastic. The festive atmosphere encouraged resident vocalists out of the woodwork, impressing everyone with a performance of “Have Some Madeira, My Dear” with great enthusiasm, plus a parody of the Mexican song “Cielto Lind”.
Resident, Jennifer thoroughly enjoyed the night. “There was a great sense of camaraderie and music hall exponents exposed!”
The popularity of these events continues to grow, with residents often inviting friends along to share in the experience. The combination of delicious food, entertainment, and friendship makes these evenings a much-anticipated part of the community’s calendar.
