At the behest of residents, Green Hills Residential Care Service put on a highly-anticipated Farm Day, which, from all reports, was one of the highlights of the year.
Everyone dressed for the occasion in their best country gear, ready for a day of farm fun, line dancing, and a whole lot of YEEE HAWWWWING!
When residents asked for a pony, the team made it happen — and to their delight, the 23-year-old pony who visited was one that some of their family members had met years ago. The day was filled with laughter, smiles, and plenty of memorable moments that brought the whole community together.
There were animal cuddles galore, with everyone enjoying the chance to pat and feed the friendly farm animals.
The Farm Day–themed snacks were a crowd favourite— from “piggy” meringues to strawberry-dipped strawberries made to look like freshly picked carrots. Each time a new treat appeared, laughter and excitement filled the Backyard!
Megan got the crowd fired up with some very impressive YEEE HAAAWS, setting the perfect tone for the afternoon! Her enthusiasm had everyone joining in as we welcomed our talented line-dancing girls to the floor — and the energy in the room was nothing short of electric!
Some of the residents were especially lucky to share their love of animals and family with multiple generations. It was heartwarming to see families come together, with some celebrating alongside up to four generations!
Winifred was all smiles as she enjoyed the day with her three curious greatgrandchildren, who were just as fascinated by the animals as she was. Moments like these truly captured the spirit of togetherness that made Farm Day so special.
