Safe Church Training
Fresh Hope is committed to supporting safe people and safe environments across the Fresh Hope family. We are now in partnership with the NSW/ACT Baptist Association to deliver the Creating Safe Spaces – Safe Church training program.
Creating Safe Spaces is an excellent safe church training program, complying with all current legislation, and even includes responses to the recent Royal Commission into Institutional Child Sexual Abuse.
We will be hosting a mid-week CCS course in April for anybody who has not yet undertaken training of this type. Endorsed ministers and SRE teachers must complete safe church training every three years, however, all youth and children’s volunteers, plus board members and elders are strongly encouraged to complete this training.
Location: Fresh Hope Resource Centre – Level 1, 3 Rider Blvd Rhodes
Date & Time: Thursday, 1st April 2021. 9:30am – 1:00pm
The course is completed in a two-stage process:
1 – Online Creating Safe Spaces training. This course can be completed in one sitting or over several stages. It is the knowledge base that our people need to understand and realise. This online course costs $10 per person. Register here for the online component.
2 – Face-to-face Creating Safe Spaces workshop. This is a 3-hour workshop, where people have an opportunity to learn further and discuss their learnings from the online course. The workshop is $25 per person. There is an additional 30-minute section for church eldership/board members and policymakers. Register below for the workshop component.
