Fresh Hope Collective 2019
May 8 @ 6:00 pm - May 11 @ 5:00 pm
Collective 2019 preparation is underway. Our theme for 2019 is Unshackled. It’s a broad topic and our line-up of speakers and facilitators will cover a range of issues to serve your development and growth. Each year Collective gathers leaders from across NSW and the ACT. This year we will encourage you to explore short term impacts while focusing on the long term horizon for your church’s mission. Unshackled is about the courage to dream and plan for a future church and a future generation.

Simon Smart is Executive Director of the Centre for Public Christianity. A former English and History teacher, Simon has a Masters in Christian Studies from Regent College, Vancouver. He is the author of For God’s Sake: An Atheist, a Jew, a Christian and a Muslim Debate Religion, and was co-presenter and co-writer of the historical documentary For the Love of God: How the church is better and worse than you ever imagined. Simon’s writing has appeared in such places as The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, the ABC, The Australian, and The Guardian. He lives on Sydney’s northern beaches and is an inept but enthusiastic surfer.
Naomi Giles is a life-long member of the tribe of Churches of Christ, valuing the diversity and freedom of the Fresh Hope movement. A career in radio and TV took her to Canberra in 1996 where she began worshiping at Nations Heart Christian Community. During this time a nagging calling re-surfaced and she followed the long and winding road into ministry. Day by day she’s learning what it takes to lead an authentic Christian community and to value the challenges and the beauty of the Bride of Christ. Naomi enjoys reading and reflecting, exploring God’s great world, craves the beach, appreciates a finely made latte and deeply values her family and friends.
