Magnolia Cottage celebrates volunteer Cora Jones, who was honoured as a Volunteer of the Year nominee at the Shoalhaven City Council Australia Day Awards 2026.
While Cora did not take home the top award, her nomination is a significant acknowledgement of more than 15 years of devoted service to Magnolia Cottage families. She shared that she felt “very special” sitting among dignitaries and fellow nominees, and was delighted to be called on stage as her nomination was read aloud.
Cora’s long-standing commitment, compassion, and generosity of spirit continue to make a profound and lasting impact on our community.
Michael Smith, Manager of Residential Services at Clelland Lodge shared, “This nomination is a wonderful acknowledgement of the generosity, dedication, and compassion Cora consistently brings to volunteering. Her contributions have made a meaningful difference to our community, and we are incredibly proud to see her commitment recognised at such a prestigious event. Magnolia Cottage and Fresh Hope Communities are grateful to have her as part of our volunteer community.”
Magnolia Cottage is fortunate to be supported by three long-term volunteers:
Each brings unwavering dedication to the families we support, reflecting the heart of Magnolia Cottage and the strong community connection we strive to nurture.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Cora on her well-deserved recognition and our sincere thanks to all three volunteers for the invaluable contributions they continue to make.
