With Father’s Day being this weekend, Patricia Grainger, our Community Manager at Green Hills & Highfield Court Retirement Communities, organised a Men’s Day Out to celebrate with the male residents.
Invitations went out to all the male residents, for a Mystery Day Out with Marty Bates, Highfield Court’s Maintenance Officer.
Eight men attended the outing – from Green Hills: Bert, Allan and Graham and from Highfield Court: Kel, George, Neil, Heinz and Rod, and of course Marty.
Marty drove them to Dull Brother’s Ten Pin Bowling for a few games, followed by lunch at the Bradford Hotel in Rutherford. The men had a fantastic time together and the meals from the Bradford Hotel were so generous that some were able take home food for later.
These days out, specifically tailored for the men in retirement communities, are very important in building trust, rapport, and reassurance.
The day was a great success and was met with such enthusiasm that further outings will be planned.
To all the fathers and father figures across Fresh Hope Communities, Happy Father’s Day this weekend!
