Green Hills Residential Care Service & Highfield Court Retirement Community held their annual ‘Biggest Morning Tea’. This event is one of the most popular Community Hall gatherings held at the East Maitland services, as most of the residents have been impacted by cancer in some way throughout their lives.
This year, The Cancer Council’s Biggest Morning Tea celebrates 30 years of community-run events across Australia, raising funds to make a difference for people whose lives are impacted by cancer.
Not only did residents and staff enjoy a fantastic morning tea, but there was a definite buzz around the place with stalls, ‘his & hers’ lucky dip, raffles, trivia, lucky door prizes and much more—all to help raise funds to support the critical work of the Cancer Council.
Residents in both communities came together and raised a very impressive $2,500.00—a huge increase on the previous year.
Patricia Grainger, Community Manager at Green Hills and Highfield Court speaks for them all when she says, “We cannot wait until 2024 for an even BIGGER Morning Tea!”
